As we approach autumn it seems the Velodrome is about to change its timetable and booking system.
From next week, there will be three Friday evening sessions at 7,8 and 9 pm. There will be a published two week timetable and it will be possible to book up to two weeks in advance.
It looks like the timetable for a week will be as follows: Monday 8, 9, 12, 16, and 17.00 all for one hour. Tuesday only 8 and 9 am also for one hour sessions. Wednesday 8, 9, 14, 15, 16.00 Thursday 10, 11, 13.00 Friday 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, 19, 20 & 21.00 Saturday only 15.00 Sunday nothing yet. The above may still change but at least we have Friday evening confirmed.
I think we have 10 accredited riders. Therefore should we try to create a regular time slot and organise how we make a block booking for those who are keen. Can you let me have your views please. Thanks

Fantastic, Im up for a regular Friday slot and a lot of others will be too. Every week would be good but if this is not a goer then every fortnight. It would be good to have a focus for each session, eg pursuit, sprint, madison etc. If numbers are not there we could look at partnering with another club. Thanks for keeping us all up to speed on this Morley.

yeah definitely up for that. Me and kyle for a few weeks were doing the drop in sessions at 9 am midweek and it was really good. The track was dead and we got to pretend to be mr Hoy and mr Bos! nnneeeaaawwww

I'm potentially up for this too, although have zero track experience. Would I need to go through the accreditation stuff first? (Expect you'd want me to anyway in order to avoid carnage.)

Gaz, not sure but think it could be as many as 30 so we would not beable to book the session.
Douglas, yes you will have to go through 4 stage accreditation. Are you a member of The Glasgow Club? If not join and get yourself on Accred 1 asap.

Ok, on a Friday evening there will be three sessions. 7 to 8, 8 to 9 and 9 to 10. We can book up to two weeks in advance.
Next Friday 20th there is only one session 7 to 8 due to other stuff going on and at the moment it is EMPTY!!!!!! So how about we book in as many as are free for 20th.
We can book individually but there is scope to book as a group if one person has the membership numbers. The system changed recently so that you have to pay when you book either on-line or by phone. Perhaps on this occasion we book individually and if there is a core of people who attend we can work out a block arrangement.
Do we know if George, Graeme and Kyle would Join in?
I am going to book now so hopefully I won't be alone.

The best laid plans....... I phoned to book for 20th and the Accredited sessions are still 7 days booking. So the first time we could book is 9 am Friday morning. I will give it a go and see what happens. That explains why session is empty.

Dont worry Beverly, it is likely that this will be a regular activity. We just need to fine tune the way we book in. So there will be more opportunities for friday track sessions.

Just back from track session. Trefor, Pauline and me amongst a group. Fantastic exercise and track skills training. We need more. Much more!! I think there are three sessions each Friday evening from now on. We need to book individually for now so shall we stick to 7 to 8 or is 8 to 9 better? Weekly may be too much so perhaps we can commit to a club night once per month so we have a good turn out and those who want to go more often can. Thoughts?

Me and Pauline are going to try going once a week I think. Are you going to be going every Friday Morley? 7 to 8 was good for me. I was very rusty and a little bit nervous but got into a nice single paceline by the end. Like Morley I reckon weekly may be too much for some folk but we should try and get all accredited riders out on the track once a month.
