Just a quick note to say the 2013 Scottish Cross Country (SXC) mountain bike series starts this weekend in Forfar: www.sxc.org.uk/Your truly is racing in the Open Category (i.e. the lowest category) so here's hoping for a non-rubbish result. Cheers.

Good luck Kevin and well done for being the first in the club to kick off your racing season. Please give us a race report on here when you get back and pictures would be good.

That is a fantastic result Kevin, not only are you the first to kick off your season but the first to give us a victory. Well done. Looking at the lap times you will be up there in the sport catagory. Any pictures?

Hi Kevin. Well done for the excellent result. I see a podium place before the end of the year. Ill do race support on the 9th of June. I just need to get a crate for the bottles. Martyn has some good pictures but is having trouble downloading them. Ill help him with this. Ill be riding the Auldhouse next Tuesday so will be unable to make the meeting. I hope somebody else will be able to join you and it would be great to have some feedback re outcomes. Once again well done and thanks for flying the Glenmarnock flag in a new arena for us.

Cheers, Tref. Confirmed as 13th position now. Some riders were mistakenly recorded as DNFers but have been corrected into the standings above me. Ho hum. I can now aim (again) for a(nother) top 10 place.

Next SXC round is on Sunday 9 June at Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries & Galloway. I'm entered in Vets category again.
Also, my 13th place at Cathkin Braes has earned me the princely sum of 18 British Cycling points. My first ever. A whole 18.

Competed in the SXC round 4 yesterday at Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries & Galloway. Again, I'm provisionally 10th, so here's hoping that there are no issues with the timings this round so I can keep that 10th spot. Cheers to Tref for the race support once more.

The final round of the SXC race series takes place on SUNDAY (not Saturday!!!) 1st September at Kirroughtree, Dumfries & Galloway - www.sxc.org.uk/events.php. I am again entering the Veteran Category, a 4 lap race (each lap being 5-6 km long) which takes place in the afternoon. I have been gently brow-beating a few other club members to try the Open Category race in the morning, which is only 2 laps long. Anyone up for it? Also happy for memebrs to come down and spectate as well (make a day out of it). Tref can testify as to how good a mountain bike race meet is.
